FOYLE’S HANDBOOKS FOR PET LOVERS
WHO - commissioned & published by the legendary Foyle’s Bookshop on London’s Charing Cross Road & written by eminent experts in their respective fields.
WHAT - short (under 100 pages), concise introductions written by old school experts in old school style where every word counts & convey the essentials as well as some finer points in about 1/2 hour. Illustrated & cover aspects of your first puppy, feeding, health, obedience, The Breed Standard, showing, history & breeding.
WHEN - written between 1960s & 1980s. One can often hear older experienced breeders lamenting the loss of older knowledge, foundation skills & standards. No longer-here it is!
WHY - incredibly inexpensive & thorough introduction to the breeds. Excellent for anyone considering owning one of these breeds & also for anyone looking to expand & complement their existing knowledge. Invaluable to aspiring judges. I personally pack a different one into my showbag & read between breed & group classes. And then go round to the rings & apply my new knowledge to the real thing.
WHERE - all out of print now, so scattered piecemeal around the internet, but virtually all together here.
HOW - click on the bookshop page! We are EBay powersellers too.
