CH Dereheath Marcus Aurelius - Best of Breed Crufts 2006

 

Bassets have been a part of our lives for over 25 years and we have been showing and breeding for over 15 years. We enjoy spending time at home with our hounds as well as showing them. We have a two acre field attached to our home which ensures that our hounds are fit and enjoy outdoor life, weather permitting!

 

We have bassets ranging from youngsters up to the age of 13! We are always pleased to receive phone calls and/or e-mails and will do our best to give any advice or help we can. We occasionally have older puppies and hounds for sale and are always happy for people to visit us to see our hounds (by appointment). We have bred/shown 9 UK Champions, 1 German Champion and 3 Irish Champions and were Top Basset Hound Breeder in 2001. We bred the Top Puppy in Breed in 1997, 1998, 2000 & 2004, Top Sire in 2001, 2003 and 2004, Top Dog 2004 and 2005, Top Stud Dog 2005, Top Breeder (BHC) 2005.

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2004 was a terrific year for us with five Dereheath bassets gaining their titles and Championship Show 1. 2, and 3 Group placings. The high spot of the year was Ch. Dereheath Marcus Aurelius gaining his title and BOB under Judge, Diane Spavin at Midland Counties and then going on to win the Hound Group under Judge, Zena Thorn-Andrews. We also won the breed UK Top Dog award with Ch. Bromwylva Imperial Mint of Dereheath with Marcus runner up. 'Marcus' has had a wonderful year again in 2005 winning 9 Challenge Certificates (5 with BOB) and is currently Top Basset in the United Kingdom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In 2004 we judged at the Basset Hound Club of Southern California Championship Show. Heather judged Dogs at the Basset Hound Club Championship Show in 2005 and Derek judged Bassets at the Southern Counties Championship show in 2005. We judged the Dutch Basset Hound Club's Championship Show in July 2005 and in 2006 judging the Basset Hound Club of Victoria's Championship Show in Australia. Heather is judging Hound Association of Scotland Championship Show & Derek Darlington Championship Show in 2007.
