The following is a short statement from Heather after the fiasco that was Crufts 2012.
We were literally "fed to the wolves" by the KC who in their arrogance expected that we would all be prepared to subject ourselves to this again and again throughtout the year should we win BOB. The stress of Sunday made me physically sick and is undoubtedly the worst day in our dog show lives. All that we had achieved in over 20 years of showing and 30 years of ownership of our beautiful breed was literally "turned to ashes". Not only have we no intention of attending any more KC Championship Shows or renewing our Assured Breeder Scheme membership, under the present regime, we also would not be prepared to fulfill our future KC judging appointments - I would not want to be responsible for putting any other breeder through the same ordeal that we went through on Sunday. All conscientious breeders, and I count ourselves amongst those, are trying to breed good healthy dogs - for ourselves, let alone to the private homes that most puppies go to. Obviously our experience and expertise is not good enough for the KC. Their latest Puppy Plan sent to all Assured Breeders I think says it all!
